♥ Basil...

"Basil" es el nombre que Amy (Nana Company) ha dado a este encantador osito. En cuanto lo vi no pude evitar agregarlo a mi pinterest como uno de esos proyectos para hacer en cuanto tenga tiempo :)... Proyectos e inspiración de tantos sitios hermosos hay demasiados, tiempo es lo que falta para poder hacer todo lo que queremos.

Hace unos días me "atoré" con uno de los puntos de bordado del SAL mon cahier de broderie, ni recuerdo cuantas veces lo he deshecho. Así que antes que la frustración se apoderara de mi me puse a buscar alguna otra cosa que hacer para distraerme del bordado por unos días y recordé el tutorial de "Basil the Sofie Bear".

Andrea es el miembro más "reciente" de mi familia, tiene tres meses de edad y el osito me pareció apropiado para ser su primer regalo hecho a mano por mi. :D

Le he puesto orejas para darle un poco más de color. Tanto éstas como la nariz y la etiqueta los cosí con la técnica del apliqué para practicar un poco. Luego agregué las puntadas decorativas para más resistencia.

La etiqueta con puntadas irregulares para dar la apariencia de "un parche descuidado". ;)

Es un osito tan encantador que ya tengo todo listo para hacer por lo menos un par más para las sobrinas que sin duda querrán uno cuando vean el de su prima Andrea :)

... If someone is here, just a quick post to wish you Happy Holidays!!! and show you the lovely Christmas gifts my dear friend Maria sent me.

Broches, un hermoso búho, hilo, alfileres, tela, un gráfico, una revista para hacer labores navideñas, un mug rug navideño y tres pequeños paneles.

Suspender clips, a beautiful owl, thread, pins, fabric, a magazine full of Christmas projects, a Christmas mug rug and three fabric panels.

El búho con lavanda huele muy bien y de momento está "custodiando" mis tijeritas... ¿Alcanzan a ver que las tengo en lo que antes se utilizaba como un porta cepillos dentales?... es de porcelana. A su lado, otras tijeras e hilos en un viejo candelabro (palmatoria) esmaltado... hay que reutilizar lo que se pueda, ¿no creen? ;)

The owl fill with lavender smells so good and is now "guarding" my scissors ... Can you see that I have them in what used to be a porcelain toothbrush stand. Next to it, some scissors and threads in a vintage enamel candlestick... We need to reuse what we can, don't you think? ;)

Mi nuevo mug rug y mi vieja taza... tiene conmigo un poco más de veinte años :O

My new mug rug and my old cup... it has been with me a little over twenty years :O

Hecho a mano con ♥ - Hand made with ♥

Hace varias semanas que recibí estos regalos de cumpleaños y, después de tanto tiempo sin actualizar el blog, por fin puedo mostrarles todas las lindas cosas surgidas con cariño de las manos de Graciela...

Several weeks ago I received these gifts for my birthday and, after so much time unable to update the blog, I can finally show you all the pretty things that emerged from Graciela's loving hands...

¡Me encantó su elección de colores y los detalles en crochet! :)

El costurero es muy amplio y perfecto para tenerlo en mi sillón de bordado con más de una labor al alcance de mi mano ;)

The sewing pouch is wide enough and perfect to put on the couch where I usually sit to embroider. I can keep handy more than one work in progress in it ;)

En el interior del bolso, ¡todas estas cositas para utilizar en mis labores!!!... Hilos, tijeras, un trozo de hermoso lino, bolsitos de crochet, dijes y cordoncillo de ganchillo y cuentas hecho por Graciela...

And inside of it, all these lovely things! ... Threads, scissors, a beautiful piece of linen, little crochet pouches, charms and crochet lace with beads made by Graciela...

También me envió un bolsito con un pequeño cuaderno de notas dentro y un carrete con puntillas tejidas por ella misma ¡todo un lujo!

She also sent a little bag with a small notebook inside it and a spool with crochet endings made by herself, what a treat!

Marzo... ¡En Agosto!!! - March... In August!!!

Últimamente tengo poco tiempo para dedicarlo a las labores y muestra de ello es este bordado que hice en Marzo y debido a las circunstancias, quedó sin terminar hasta hace poco. El diseño es el freebie correspondiente al mes de Marzo y forma parte de los dichos y refranes que Dany obsequia cada mes... El texto lo traduje al Español.

Nowadays, I have little time to dedicate to labors, this embroidery is a good example of it. I did it in March and due to circumstances, it was left unfinished until now. The design is the freebie from March and is part of the sayings and proverbs that Dany gives away each month... I've translated the text from French to Spanish... In English would be something like: "In March when the blackbird whistles the winter is gone".

El tutorial y plantilla para este "bolso en forma de hoja" lo encontré en el blog Zakka Life, pero yo le agregué el bolsito exterior.

The template and tutorial to do the "leaf drawstring bag" is on the blog Zakka Life, but I added the outside pocket.

Cambié algunos colores del original porque quise evocar un árbol de jacarandas, los cuales me encantan por el color de sus flores y porque, al igual que el mirlo, también anuncian el inicio de la Primavera ;)

I changed some colors of the original because I wanted to evoke a jacaranda tree, which I love for the color of its flowers and because, like the blackbird, it also announce the start of Spring ;)

La bolsa es muy pequeña, perfecta para guardar unos hilos de seda antiguos y un perlé Cartier Bresson que mi hermana me regaló hace poco.

The bag is very small, perfect to store some vintage silk threads and a Cartier Bresson perle that my sister gave me recently.

Por el momento es todo. Espero volver pronto con el terminado correspondiente al mes de Mayo del cual ya tengo el bordado... lo que necesito es tiempo para ponerme a cortar las telas y coser en la máquina.

That's it for now. I hope to return soon with the finish corresponding to the month of May which I've already embroidered... what I need is some time to cut the fabric and sew on the machine.

A Andrea le gustó el último estuche de este tipo que hice hace poco (el cual ya se encuentra en España y verán por qué, más abajo en este mismo post), así que le hice uno igual pero con otros colores. Tanto el gráfico como las instrucciones (en francés) para hacer el estuche (trousse) los encuentran en el sitio de Broderie Passion.

Andrea liked the last case of this kind I did recently (which now is in Spain and you'll see why, below in this post), so I made one like it but with other colors. The chart and instructions (in French) to do the case (trousse) are on the Broderie Passion site.

Los bolsitos circulares se los mostré hace poco y allí mismo, en el blog de Erin Erickson, se encuentra el tutorial para hacerlos en forma de corazón.

I showed you recently the circle pouches I did and, on the Erin Erickson blog, there is a tutorial to make them in heart shaped.

El Domingo pasado fue mi cumpleaños y aprovechando la fecha, me pareció apropiado compartir con ustedes las fotos de algunos regalos que María me envió hace poco, sin motivo alguno.

Last Sunday was my birthday and it seems appropriate to share with you the photos of some gifts that Maria sent me recently.

Las fotos hablan por si mismas y no hace falta describir los regalos... Solo puedo decirles que ¡todo me encanta!!! :)

The pictures speak for themselves and isn't necessary to describe the gifts... I just can say that I love everything! :)

He tenido que contenerme para no comenzar con el bordado del gráfico de Stacy Nash Primitives... Estoy tratando de terminar algunos de los trabajos que tengo inconclusos.

I have controlled myself not to begin embroidering the Stacy Nash Primitives chart ... I'm trying to finish some of the works that I have unfinished.

Me da un poco de pena el haber hecho esta entrada, porque es acerca de los regalos de cumpleaños que hice a mi amiga Graciela... Ya están en sus manos desde hace unas semanas y después de varios meses de retraso... ¡por eso me da pena, por el retraso! :)

Los regalos han sido un hermoso detalle por parte de María: Lavanda y vainillas, un bolsito que en su interior contenía tres hilos con carretes de madera que me han encantado y un llavero del "Museo Nacional de Escultura" de Valladolid. El llavero muestra un detalle de la galería superior del claustro del colegio de San Gregorio. Como pueden ver en las fotos del enlace, es un edificio impresionante y muy bello. ¡Gracias María, por este hermoso regalo! ;)

The gifts have been a beautiful detail by María: Lavender and vanilla, a little bag which contained inside three wooden spools threads that I love and a keyring from "The National Sculpture Museum" of Valladolid. The keyring shows a detail of the upper gallery from the cloister of San Gregorio College. As you can see  on the photos from the link, it is an impressive and very beautiful building. Thanks María, for  this precious gift!!! ;)

And finally, These gifts are part of an exchange I did with Alexandra (no blog), a friend from Ecuador.  I've received from her fabrics, cross-stitch embroideries and a knitted bag made by herself.

Las telas muy lindas y coloridas, un giro de 180 grados con respecto a las que suelo utilizar en tonos más claros. Los bordados que me envió son todos muy bonitos. Tengo que pensar cómo terminarlos para la próxima Navidad ;)

The fabrics are very cute and colorful, a 180 degrees spin to the soft colours I normally use. The embroideries she sent me are all very nice, I have to think how to finish them for next Christmas ;)

La bolsa contenía en su interior otra bolsita con cuentas e hilos que utilizaré en próximas labores. ¡Gracias Ale, trataré de dar un buen uso a lo que has enviado con tanto cariño!

The knitted bag had inside a small pouch fill with beads and threads that I will use in future works. Thank you  Ale, I'll try to make good use of what you have sent with much love!!!

La idea del intercambio con Ale surgió desde el día que les mostré el estuche en negro y rosa del SAL Broderie Passion. El estuche le gustó mucho a Ale cuando lo vio, así que se lo envié junto con el juego de costura que bordé en color café, su color favorito. También agregue un par de baberitos y un pecesito muy suave, porque ¡Ale se convertirá muy pronto en madre de una hermosa bebita!!! :)

The idea of the exchange with Alexandra came about the day I showed you the black and pink sewing case from the Broderie Passion SAL. Alexandra liked that case, so I sent it to her along with the sewing set embroidered in brown, her favorite color. I also added a couple of baby bibs and a small softie fish, because Ale is going to be very soon the mother of a beautiful baby girl!!! :)

En esta ocasión, quiero mostrarles las fabulosas muestras de afecto que he recibido por parte de mi querida amiga Graciela, quien se armó de paciencia frente a su máquina de coser y ha logrado hacer unos maravillosos regalos por mi cumpleaños.

On this occasion, I want to show you the fabulous presents I received from my dear friend Graciela, who armed herself with lots of patience in front of her sewing machine and has achieved some wonderful gifts for my birthday.

Además de todos los bellos regalos que ha hecho con todo cariño para mi, también agregó unas hermosas telas y un práctico tapete/plancha de corte que estoy impaciente por probar y que seguro hará más rápido el tedioso trabajo de cortar las telas... ¡Qué emoción, nunca he usado uno de estos, esperemos que me vaya bien :D!!!

Besides all the lovely gifts she has done with affection for me, she added some beautiful fabrics and a handy cutting mat that I'm eager to try, it surely will speed the tedious job of cutting the fabric ...How exciting, I've never used one of these, hopefully I will do it well :D!!!

La bolsa tipo cesta ha resultado muy práctica por su tamaño, ¡le cabe todo lo necesario y más!!!... ¡Me encantan el olor y color de las lavandas, así que el colorido y el bordado con el diseño de Lavender's Blue de Little House Needleworks es perfecto!!! :)


The basket -bag has been very practical for its size, it holds everything you need and more!... I love lavender's smell and color, so the colorful embroidery with the design Lavender's Blue from Little House Needleworks is perfect!!! :)

La bolsa antes mencionada contenía pequeños tesoros dentro de ella, como este lindo monedero, que a su vez guardaba el pequeño y maravilloso bolso a crochet que ven abajo... y por supuesto que el bolso tejido estaba lleno... ¿de qué???...

The bag before mentioned, was filled with small treasures, like this cute purse, which kept inside this wonderful and small crocheted pouch you see below... and of course, the crocheted bag was full with something... with what???...

Y por si no fuera suficiente, también recibí este hermoso almohadón donde puedo poner las tijeras y trae bordado el diseño "Roses Anciennes" de L' R de rien... ¡Qué bonitos colores, me encantó el detalle de la pequeña rosa y la puntilla tejida por la misma Graciela!!!... ojalá y algún día yo aprenda a tejer así, como ella ;).

And if that wasn't enough, I also got this beautiful cushion where I can put the scissors, it has the beatiful embroidery "Roses Anciennes", by L' R de rien ...What beautiful colors, I loved the little rose and the lovely crocheted lace made by Graciela!!!... hopefully, someday I will learn to knit like her ;).

Y ya que hablamos de rosas, ¡un hermoso ramo de rosas del jardín de Graciela, lucen estupendas!
And speaking of roses, a bouquet of roses from Graciela's garden, they look great!
