Mayo...

"Mayo sin rosa hace el alma triste". (Creo que la traducción correcta del francés era: Mayo sin rosa hace el alma melancólica... por cuestiones de espacio cambie "melancólica" a "triste").

"May without rose makes the soul sad". (I think the correct translation from french was: May without rose makes the soul melancholic... for space reasons I've changed the word "melancholic" to "sad").

El año pasado realicé el bordado del refrán de mayo diseñado por Dany y hoy por fin puede ver la luz

Last year I did the May proverb embroidery designed by Dany, and it finally can see the day light!

Esta es la novena vez que hago este pequeño estuche siguiendo el tutorial Trousse pique-épingles del blog de Véro (Mon aiguille). Me encanta por ser muy práctico, el primero que hice lo uso en casi todas mis labores. En esta ocasión agregué un bolsito interior extra con un trozo de encaje.

This is the ninth case in its type that I make following the Trousse pique-épingles tutorial from Vero's blog (Mon aiguille). I love it because is very practical, I use the first I made in almost all my sewing works. This time I added an extra interior pocket with a piece of lace.

El primer estuche que hice era muy pequeño, cuatro de mis tijeras no cabían en el y por lo tanto tuve que hacer un estuche un poco más grande (sólo añadí al patrón 1 cm. todo alrededor).

The first case I did was a little bit small for four of my scissors so, I had to make this one slightly bigger for them to fit in (I only added 1 cm. all around to the pattern).

Ahora puedo llevar conmigo cualquiera de mis tijeritas, ya sea en un estuche o en el otro ;)

Now I can take any of my scissors with me, either in a case or in the other ;)

Estos dos son míos, los otros han ido a parar en manos amigas de países lejanos ;)
These two are mine, the others have ended up in friendly hands from distant countries ;)

Y aquí, ¡todos los estuches que he hecho hasta ahora!... Seguro con el tiempo vendrán más, aunque no por el momento :D.

And here, all the sewing cases I've made so far!... I'm sure more will come, eventually, but not anytime soon :D.

Hace poco hice un intercambio con Andrea y esto es lo que le envíe:

A Andrea le gustó el último estuche de este tipo que hice hace poco (el cual ya se encuentra en España y verán por qué, más abajo en este mismo post), así que le hice uno igual pero con otros colores. Tanto el gráfico como las instrucciones (en francés) para hacer el estuche (trousse) los encuentran en el sitio de Broderie Passion.

Andrea liked the last case of this kind I did recently (which now is in Spain and you'll see why, below in this post), so I made one like it but with other colors. The chart and instructions (in French) to do the case (trousse) are on the Broderie Passion site.

Los bolsitos circulares se los mostré hace poco y allí mismo, en el blog de Erin Erickson, se encuentra el tutorial para hacerlos en forma de corazón.

I showed you recently the circle pouches I did and, on the Erin Erickson blog, there is a tutorial to make them in heart shaped.

El gráfico del tris o "tres en línea", es un freebie del blog de Luli y yo lo terminé como un llavero. Los marcapáginas en forma de corazón y el tutorial para hacerlos se los mostré en esta entrada.

Bordando Juntas... Stitching together...

Hace unas semanas, Mavi nos propuso en su blog bordar juntas el diseño "heart and flowers", creación de Manka que Adelina nos mostró hace casi un año en su blog; el cual sirvió como inspiración a cada una de las participantes. Esta es mi interpretación del diseño y el terminado que he hecho con el...


A few weeks ago, Mavi proposed us in her blog to stitch together the design "heart and flowers", a Manka's creation that Adelina showed us almost a year ago in her blog; which served as inspiration to each of the participants. This is my interpretation of the design and what I have done with it...

El bordado lo he hecho sobre lino gris y sirvió para el bolsito interno del estuche de bordado que hice.
I have embroidered the design on gray linen and it served as an internal pouch to the embroidery case I did.

Seguro recordarán que en entradas anteriores ya he hecho el mismo tipo de estuche, pero con ligeras variaciones, así que, no las aburriré con largas explicaciones. Aquí encontrarán el tutorial de un estuche muy parecido a este, pero más bonito :D. 
I'm sure you will recall that on previous entries I have done the same type of case, but with slight variations, so, I won't bore you with long explanations. Here you will find the tutorial for a sewing case quite like this one, but nicer :D.

Los regalos han sido un hermoso detalle por parte de María: Lavanda y vainillas, un bolsito que en su interior contenía tres hilos con carretes de madera que me han encantado y un llavero del "Museo Nacional de Escultura" de Valladolid. El llavero muestra un detalle de la galería superior del claustro del colegio de San Gregorio. Como pueden ver en las fotos del enlace, es un edificio impresionante y muy bello. ¡Gracias María, por este hermoso regalo! ;)

The gifts have been a beautiful detail by María: Lavender and vanilla, a little bag which contained inside three wooden spools threads that I love and a keyring from "The National Sculpture Museum" of Valladolid. The keyring shows a detail of the upper gallery from the cloister of San Gregorio College. As you can see  on the photos from the link, it is an impressive and very beautiful building. Thanks María, for  this precious gift!!! ;)

Y por último, Los regalos que forman parte de un intercambio que hice con Alexandra (sin blog), una amiga de Ecuador. De ella he recibido telas, bordados en punto de cruz y una bolsa tejida por ella misma.

And finally, These gifts are part of an exchange I did with Alexandra (no blog), a friend from Ecuador.  I've received from her fabrics, cross-stitch embroideries and a knitted bag made by herself.

Las telas muy lindas y coloridas, un giro de 180 grados con respecto a las que suelo utilizar en tonos más claros. Los bordados que me envió son todos muy bonitos. Tengo que pensar cómo terminarlos para la próxima Navidad ;)

The fabrics are very cute and colorful, a 180 degrees spin to the soft colours I normally use. The embroideries she sent me are all very nice, I have to think how to finish them for next Christmas ;)

La bolsa contenía en su interior otra bolsita con cuentas e hilos que utilizaré en próximas labores. ¡Gracias Ale, trataré de dar un buen uso a lo que has enviado con tanto cariño!

The knitted bag had inside a small pouch fill with beads and threads that I will use in future works. Thank you  Ale, I'll try to make good use of what you have sent with much love!!!

La idea del intercambio con Ale surgió desde el día que les mostré el estuche en negro y rosa del SAL Broderie Passion. El estuche le gustó mucho a Ale cuando lo vio, así que se lo envié junto con el juego de costura que bordé en color café, su color favorito. También agregue un par de baberitos y un pecesito muy suave, porque ¡Ale se convertirá muy pronto en madre de una hermosa bebita!!! :)

The idea of the exchange with Alexandra came about the day I showed you the black and pink sewing case from the Broderie Passion SAL. Alexandra liked that case, so I sent it to her along with the sewing set embroidered in brown, her favorite color. I also added a couple of baby bibs and a small softie fish, because Ale is going to be very soon the mother of a beautiful baby girl!!! :)

Mi Pochette ABCD'Air...

Después de varios meses de entregas, he terminado mi bolso para las labores del SAL organizado por las chicas del blog Association ABCD'Air. Tuve una pequeña pelea con la máquina de coser porque las piezas de tela no coincidían al tratar de unirlas. Por fortuna, luego de descoser y enmendar el error, volví a coser y el resultado ha sido de mi agrado; no es perfecto pero cumple con su propósito ;).


After several months of deliveries, I have finished my pouch  of the SAL organized by the girls of the blog Association ABCD'Air. I had a small fight with the sewing machine because the pieces of fabric were not coinciding when I tried to join them. Fortunately, after I unstitched it and to amend the mistake, I sew it again and the result has been of my pleasure; it's not perfect but I think it fulfills its purpose ;).

The design I embroidered on the pouch cover, is from a freebie of "The Comtesse & le Point de Croix ".

Para la parte interna del bolso utilicé una de las telas que mi amiga Graciela me obsequió hace unos meses.


For the inside of the pouch, I used one of the fabrics that my friend Graciela gave to me a few months ago.

No sé si lo recuerden, originalmente una de las caras del bolso tenía un molino y un par de árboles (aquí lo pueden ver). Pues al final deshice esa parte y bordé un diseño floral que es parte de uno de los gráficos del sitio PCB.


I don't know if you remember it but, originally, one of the faces of the pouch had a mill and a couple of trees (here you can see it).  At the end I undid this part and embroidered a floral design instead of it that is a part  from one of the charts of the PCB site.

Como podrán ver, el planchado del lino no se me da muy bien... ¿no será que necesito una mejor plancha???... sí, ya lo sé, no son más que pretextos... ¡lo admito, no sé planchar y punto!!! :D.

As you'll be able to see, ironing is not my strongest feature... will be that I need a better iron???... I know, I know it, is nothing but excuses... I admit it, I don't know how to iron, period!!! :D.

I ♥ tutorials!!!

En esta ocasión he hecho estos dos estuches (para cámara o celular) de uno de los tutoriales del sitio Sewlover.

This time I have done these two cases (for camera or cell phone) from one of the tutorials of the Sewlover site.

Esta fué la primera que hice y como le gustó a mi hermana, me pidió que le hiciera una para su cámara de fotos.

This one was the first one that I did and since my sister liked it, asked me to do one for its photos camera.

La funda en amarillo es la que hice para mi hermana. El acolchado solo se lo hice en el interior pero olvidé tomarle fotos a la parte interna... ¡tenía dos cámaras y olvidé hacer las fotos del interior!!!:p

The yellow one is the case that I did to my sister. I just quilted it in the inside but I forgot to take photos of the interior ... I had two cameras and I forgot to do photos from the inside part!!!:p

A mi me gustan ambas versiones, ¿ y a ustedes?

Un bolso más - One more pouch

Las mujeres nunca tenemos bolsos suficientes... ok, si tenemos suficientes, pero otro nunca está de más... es sólo por si acaso ;).

Women we never have enough bags ... ok, we have  sufficient , but one more doesn't hurt... it is just in case;).

Este bolso lo hice para echar alguna labor y llevarla en mi bolsa de todos los días. Con el tiempo he descubierto que estos bolsitos estilo sobre son muy prácticos por el poco espacio que ocupan.

I made this pouch to throw in it a labor and carry it in my everyday bag. With the time I have discovered that this kind of envelope pouches are the most practical for the small space they occupy in the bag.

La hice de acuerdo al tutorial del blog Facile Cécile, pero con unos pequeños cambios... agregué un compartimento extra, una cinta para las tijeras y también le he hecho un guarda-agujas a juego.


I did it from the tutorial in Facile Cécile blog, but with a few small changes ... I added an extra compartment, a ribbon for the scissors and also I have made a needle case that match with the pouch.

Traté de hacerle algunos detalles en quilt (como en el tutorial), pero no me han quedado muy bien debido a mi nula experiencia en quilting... ¡si algún día hay un curso de quilting en mi ciudad, seré la primera en tomarlo, se los aseguro!!!... mientras eso sucede, no me queda más que seguirlo intentando por mi misma :D.

I tried to do some quilt details (like in the tutorial), but I have not made them very well because of my null skills in quilting... if some day there is a quilting course in my city, I will be the first one taking it, that's for sure!!!... while it happens, I will have to continue trying by myself :D.
